Men and officers of the Anambra State Police Command, on Tuesday, neutralized a suspected armed robber in the state.
It was gathered that the robber was operating along the Ogidi/Oraukwu Road with his gang members, before he met his waterloo at about 1.5pm, while other members of his gang escaped in a white Hilux
Confirming the incident in a statement issued to newsmen on Tuesday, the State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Tochukwu Ikenga said the robber was killed out four other members of the gang, and also noted that one Ak47 and six rounds live ammunition was recovered at the scene.
The statement reads “Today, 14/6/2022, at about 1:5pm, police operatives on patrol, demobilized one out of four armed robbery gang operating along Ogidi/Oraukwu road, and recovered one Ak47 and six rounds live ammunition.
“The police operatives engaged the armed robbers who were operating in white Hilux without registration number and attempted to dispossess motorists and their passengers of their belongings. Due to the superior fire of the Police, the robbers fled the scene with the white Hilux.
“Meanwhile operation is still ongoing in the area. Further details shall be communicated please.”.
