His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Bauchi State Governor, Senator Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed has commissioned the Bauchi Reference Molecular Laboratory at Specialist Hospital Bauchi.
The Molecular laboratory has the capacity to be extended to include tests for other diseases like Yellow Fever, Lassa and other Hemorrhagic Fevers and even HIV and Hepatitis B among others.
This Molecular laboratory is one of government’s cardinal strategies in combating the spread of COVID-19 and Lassa fever outbreaks in the state.
Already, the administration of Governor Bala Mohammed is paying more than fifteen million naira every 2 weeks for contact tracing and surveillance, case management, risk communication, infection prevention and coordination.
The administration will also prioritize the welfare of frontline health workers in the state so as to to tackle the challenges facing the sector and ensure effective service delivery.
According to Development partners, the Bauchi laboratory is one of the best in the country.
