Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), youths in the South-West, under the
aegis of PDP Youths Congress (PDPYC) have raised concerns over plot to
compromise some members of the party’s National Working Committee
(NWC) with millions of naira by House of Representatives member
representing Aniocha/Oshimili federal constituency of Delta State, Mr
Ndudi Elumelu and others.
PDPYC alleged that Hon. Elumelu and six other PDP members of the
House of Representatives, who were suspended by the party over their
roles in the crisis surrounding the Minority Leadership of the House
of Representatives, are currently holding a meeting at a secret
location in Abuja to perfect the plot and raise the needed cash.
According to its release at the wee hours of Thursday, signed by the
Convener, Comrade Oluwole Durojaiye, PDPYC said the decision to
compromise some members of the party NWC was to prevent the imminent
expulsion of Hon. Elumelu and others from the party.
Apart from Elumelu, other PDP Reps that were also suspended include
member representing Oriade/Obokun Federal Constituency of Osun State,
Wole Oke; member representing Onitsha North and Onitsha South Federal
constituency, Lynda Ikpeazu; member representing Ezza North/Ishielu
federal constituency, Anayo Edwin; member representing Kaura Federal
Constituency election in Kaduna State, Gideon Gwani;Â member
representing Aninri/Awgu/Oji River Federal Constituency of Enugu
State, Toby Okechukwu and member representing Ijebu-North/Ijebu-East
/ Ogun Waterside Federal Constituency, Adekoya Abdul-Majid.
The PDPÂ youths said it will keep the suspended Reps members and the
NWC members targeted for the bribe under watch.
They insisted that the position of the party on the Reps Minority
leadership and other minority offices must be respected by those who
were imposed by the All Progressives Congress and the Speaker, Hon.
Femi Gbajabiamila.
The PDPYC said rather than seeking to spend millions of naira as bribe
to escape being expelled from the PDP,  Elumelu and his gang should
rather respect the position of the party and desist from being used by
Gbajabiamila and his APC.
