Five notorious kidnappers and100 other  suspects are cooking their heels at the cell in Bompai police headquarters Kano.

The state Commissioner for Police, Ahmed Illyasu said the criminals have been terrorizing citizens in the state, but we’re mopped up at various locations by the police.

The police boss siad the Command’s Anti Kidnapping Squad through Operation Puff Adder tracked and arrested five kidnappers who conspired and sent text messages, threatening to one Sani Yahaya of Goron Dutse quarters with his wife.

He further stated that, “on August 21, a letter of complaint was received from one Ibrahim Muhammad of Sani Majnagge Quarters, Gwale Local Government Area Kano that an SMS text message was sent to him threatening him that his son will be kidnapped.

” Puff Adder operatives attached to the Command’s Anti Kidnapping Squad  were immediately drafted and swung into action.

“One Hamisu Abdullahi alias Baban Gandu aged 37 years and Yusuf Abubakar 48 years were arrested. Suspects confessed to have conspired and extorted the sum of N120,000 from the complaint and would soon be charged to Court.

Iliyasu said ” based on technical intelligence, the special Anti-Robbery squad of operation Puff-Adder, Miyyetti Allah arrested on e Saidu Abdullahi and four others at Falgore forest, Doguwa Local Government Area.

“Suspects confessed to have involved in series of armed robbery and kidnapping and mentioned other members of their syndicate now at large.

” Suspects led to the recovery of six AK 47 riffles with 110 round of live armmunition and a set of camouflage uniform. Operation is in progress to arrest the remaining members. ”

Also, CP Illyasu padded five suspects for stealing 124 solar batteries and vandalizing network mast at various locations within the state.

He said the susoects were also responsible for the attack of one Saifulllahi Mohammed of Gaide quarters in Kano, robbed him and recovered one Techno Mobile phone valued at N50,000, one Infinix Hot 6 valued at N50, 000 and the sum of N22, 000 by stabbing their victim to death.

He said two suspects were arrested by the police for forgery and cyber crime, adding that the suspects confessed to the alleged crime, during a search, four computer laptops, tgrrr printers, some fake statement of results of Kano state Polytechnic, School of Hygiene and some numbers of fake NECO results, fake Nigerian Army ID card, as well as fake voters cards were recovered from them.

Also, 61 suspects were arrested in connection of thuggery, possession bags of dry leaves suspected to be Indian Hemp, and armed robbery.

He said the weeds were intercepted by a patrol team at Kurna Dangora in Kiru Local Government and the driver, Aminu Ibrahim (25) in a gulf car loaded with 11 bags of Indian hemp.

He charged criminals in the state to relocate ir be ready to face the full wrath of the law as Kano has become, “mortuary for criminals and not centuary.”
