KADUNA — A fierce political storm over a leaked document purportedly originating from Sir Kashim Ibrahim House has taken a dramatic turn following an official disclaimer exposing the viral document as a complete forgery designed to mislead the public.
The controversial letter, which circulated heavily across social media, claimed that Governor Uba Sani had approved a mind-boggling N2.3 trillion budget to fund a 2027 presidential campaign rally for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in Kaduna State. The document drew instant outrage from residents, opposition figures, and commentators, who seized on the staggering sum to criticize government priorities at a time when rural communities face severe economic hardship and banditry.
However, a close examination of the document reveals glaring technical defects and official irregularities that confirm it is a fabricated release:
The letter carries a fake reference number (GH/KD/S/276) that does not match official government filings. Furthermore, the document suffers from crude, unprofessional formatting, featuring unaligned text margins and inconsistent font styling that violate state protocol standards. Beyond the visual flaws, the N2.3 trillion budget figure cited in the letter vastly exceeds the entire annual statutory budget of Kaduna State, making the claim financially impossible.
In a formal reaction, authorities urged the public to completely disregard the document, warning against the spread of unverified correspondence intended to cause disaffection and political panic.
Despite the refutation, commentators note that the swiftness with which the fake document went viral reflects deep public sensitivity surrounding government spending, school safety, and the security of farmlands across Kaduna State.
