
Port Harcourt High Court Nullifies Rivers APC Ward, Local And State Congresses

All Congresses and primaries held by the All Progressives Congress, APC in Rivers State has been declared null and void and of no effect and thereby set aside by a Rivers State High Court sitting in Port Harcourt today.
Justice Chiwendu Worgu who granted the reliefs sort by the twenty-three applicants, said the party wrongfully excluded the aggrieved members from taking part in the May 19th ward congresses and as such the process was contrary to the APC constitution.
Justice Worgu further said the actions of the respondent in going ahead with congresses and primaries despite the order of injunction and pending case as well as the attack on the HIGH Court premises by their faithful were in clear neglect of the principles of the rule of law and indirect declaration by the respondent that it is above the law.
Counsel to the Magnus Abu faction of the APC who represented the twenty-three aggrieved members, Henry Bello commended the ruling of the court.
Meanwhile, counsel to the Ojukaye Flag Amachree led APC, Onyekwere Asunda said the Judgment was not worth celebrating over as it will be nullified by the appeal Court for lack of jurisdiction.
Justice Worgu who went on to say that the respondent was on a mission to discredit the court by writing several petitions to the NJC however declared that ‘he will not be afraid’.
