Buhari To Receive Another Fresh $500m Stolen By Abacha
The Federal Government has signed an agreement with three countries for the repatriation of another $500 million looted during the regime of former head of state, late General Sani Abacha.
Attorney General of the Federation (AGF) and Minister for Justice, Abubakar Malami (SAN) signed the MoU for the repatriation of the money with the governments of USA, UK and Island of Jersey in London on Monday.
The National Coordinator of the Open Government Partnership (OGP), Nigeria and Special Assistant to the President on Justice Reforms, Juliet Ibekaku-Nwagwu, who attended the meeting with the AGF said the latest agreement would enable the final draw down of the fund.
She said the efforts of the AGF and his team had resulted in the repatriation of an initial $322m in December, 2017.
