PDP Stakeholders Petition PDP NEC Over Anambra Primary

odogwublog.com reports that stakeholders from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) across Twenty one (21) local government areas in Anambra state yesterday agreed that the primary election of the party was compromised sequel to a compromised ward election outcome.
The stakeholders under the auspices of Peoples Democratic Party National Volunteer Front demanded action from the petition it sent to the National Executive Committee (NEC) and the PDP Caretaker Committee led by Senator Ahmed Makarfi within 24 hours to enable the party go into the 2017 Governorship election with one voice.

Addressing the media at Indigo hotel Awka , the National Marshall of National Volunteer Front, Hon Nwosu Emmanuel, an Engineer said the processes that led to the primary election was flawed because internal party democracy was lacking and therefore there were aggrieved party members and Aspirants that needed to be pacified before the main election.
Hon Nwosu flanked by the state Marshall Chief Ifeanyi Atuh and state Deputy Chairman Engineer Onyeka Ezeharike said if the injustices some aspirants and members felt happened were not addressed that the PDP would be made a laughing stock in the election.
He hoped that the national body of the party would attend to its petition and recommendations for a better united and focused party ready to take over the state come November 2017 adding that,’’ we cant go into this election divided’’. He maintained that the process that led to the primary was flawed and therefore could not stand unless it is addressed.
Hon Nwosu who aspired to be member of House of Representatives before maintained that his association and group is not stoking the embers of disunity or discord but to ensure peace and reconciliation is in PDP but the mistakes must be first admitted.

‘’This is because , PDP must continue to lead the way for others to follow. We can’t go into this election divided. We are saying that the processes that led to the primary election was flawed and therefore the primary was flawed. We are doing this to ensure peace is restored to the PDP before this election. There must be internal democracy which is the epitome of democracy. The ingredients that make for successful, transparent party primary were not followed’’.
Hon Nwosu maintained that over 90 percent of the Aspirants who participated in the primary were unhappy with the outcome and continued to say that he congress that led to the primary was illegitimate. He insisted that the moment the ward congresses were compromised that the primary was also compromised adding that ‘’we are saddened by the process that led to the primary.
The Peoples Democratic Party National Volunteer Front Leader informed that the only reprieve for peace and progress for a united PDP before the election was for the National leadership of PDP to intervene and address the grievances of members and aspirants at the primary, adding that should they fail , the situation would be out of hand for PDP.
