N1.05bn Subsidy Scam: Oil Marketers, Rabiu, Rowaye Know Fate April 7

EFCC PRESS RELEASE

 

A Federal Capital Territory (FCT) High Court, Abuja presided over by Justice Adebukola Banjoko will on Friday, April 7, 2017 deliver judgment on a N1.05billion subsidy fraud suit instituted against two directors of oil marketing companies, Saminu Rabiu and Jubril Rowaye by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC.

Rabiu and Rowaye , directors of Alminnur Resources Limited and Brilla Energy Limited respectively, were arraigned on October 17, 2012 on a 17-count charge of conspiracy and fraud.

The duo were accused of fraudulently using their companies to obtain N1.05billion from the Petroleum Support Fund as payment for importation of 10,000 tonnes of Premium Motor Spirit, PMS.

They were at various times forged different bills of lading for PMS that was not supplied in a bid to claim the subsidy on fuel.

The case went to trial after the two oil marketers pleaded not guilty to the charge.
