The leadership of pro-Biafra organization, Reformed Indigenous People of Biafra (RE-IPOB) says information available to it indicates that one of the parties in the governorship crisis bedeviling Abia state, Dr. Uche Ogah, is behind splinter group, The Rebranded Indigenous People of Biafra.
In a statement signed by its spokesman, Ikemba Biafra, RE-IPOB accused Ogah sponsoring TRIPOB to destabilize Abia state and cause crisis which will portray Gov. Okezie Ikpeazu as unpopular and incapable of governing the state.
The group further stated that in a bid to commence the destabilization plot, TRIPOB has commenced mobilization for a planned protest which will soon hold in Aba and Umuahia over the appeal court verdict which dismissed Ogah’s suit.
“Our investigation revealed an orchestrated plan by TRIPOB to destabilize Abia state through a plot sponsored by a governorship aspirant, Dr. Uche Ogah who just appealed the Appeal Court judgment that favoured Dr Ikpeazu. From our investigations, Ogah has vowed to ‘play all cards’ to win the sympathy of the federal government and take over the governorship position of the state. We will resist every attempt by Uche Ogah to play dirty to win the sympathy of the Supreme Court and influence the federal government in his ill motivated bid to take over the governorship bid,” the statement read.
REIPOB warned that the Biafran movement is not a platform for politicians to realize their ambitions and urged the security agencies to be at alert to ensure that the prevailing peace is not breached by desperate politicians.
