The consensus candidate whose origin is trailed with controversies supported the kola nut with the whooping sum after the political godfather of the state governor, Prof. Sam Oyovbaire reeled out the names of the state executives ahead of the party’s state congress which has been scheduled for Tuesday 10th May, 2016.

It was gathered that Barr. Esiso was recommended by Prof. Oyobaire to the governor who was in dare search of a party loyalist whom he could work with, without any confrontation from the central.

It was learnt that Okowa doled out N2.5 million to the loyal consensus state chairman while the senator representing Delta North later came in with another N2.5 million which summed up to the N5 million splashed by Barr. Esiso.

Prof. Oyobaire who aligned with our investigation disclosed that “in Urhobo, we have conversation with our people. I call it conversation, people went and start talking about screening or interview, we did not interview people, we did not screen people, we did not conduct JAMB and we did not conduct Post JAMB. We had conversation with our people because we need somebody who will bring us together and who the governor can work with”, he said.

Corroborating with reports of how dollars were squandered during the delegate congress in the state, the Father of Government (MOG) as he is fondly called said, “The kind of delegate congress you have where dollars went around the whole place, you may not have it again. So, within us with understanding from the young ones, the women and those that are important to the success of PDP, we have been able to get the eight positions which as you already know, together with the chairman we have been able to sort out relatively peacefully the following people that will tomorrow, it will be a formality”.

He continued: “I say formality because for the sake of the press, we will conduct our congress very peacefully but it will not be contentious or anything that will bring quarrel to us”, he said.

Other executive of the party are: the Assistant Publicity Secretary, London Ohwofasa Akpormugo – Ethiope West, ex-officio I, Mr. Samson Ogbemre – Ughelli north, ex-officio II, Mrs. Vivian Ogheneovo – Udu, Assistant Financial Secretary, Chief Mike Emiruaye – Uvwie, the Auditor, Chief J. J. Scott – Okpe, Organizing Secretary, Chief SundayOnoriode, Vice chairman Central Chief Dr. Ekpikoma.

In his response, the hand-picked chairman while thanking the elders for the good done him, said “we have an additional responsibility to defend, protect, guide and to preserve the interest of the Urhobo land. I promise to do just that, God willing and I will do that with the help of our leaders, elders. We will not fail”, he promised.

Meanwhile, the assistant publicity secretary, Akpormugo and the Auditor, Chief J. J. Scott boycotted the meeting over slot disagreement.
