Minister of State for Works, Prince Adedayo Adeyeye has described the next Saturday governorship election in Osun State as a continuation of the All Progressives Congress (APC) political woe in the Southwest, saying; “By this time of 2015, APC would have lost totally its hold on the Southwest politics.”

The minister, who reiterated his belief that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) will win the August 9 election, added that; “Yoruba people have had enough of a political arrangement in which one man determines from his bedroom in Lagos who becomes a councilor in Ise-Ekiti, my hometown.”

In a release issued today, and made available to journalists in Ado-Ekiti, Adeyeye said after winning the Osun State election on Saturday, the PDP will go ahead to retrieve Oyo, Ogun and Lagos States from the APC next year.

He said the noise being made by the APC over deployment of Soldiers to Osun State for the election was a sign that the party had already conceded defeat, adding that; “If a party does not trust the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to conduct a free and fair election and it does not trust all the security agencies to provide security during the election, shouldn’t such a party just go ahead and set up its own country where it will be in charge of all the government institutions?”

The minister said the APC was only making noise on the presence of heavy security before, during and after the election because its intention of using armed thugs to rig the election will not be allowed to materialise.

“They invaded Ekiti with armed thugs during the June 21 election, but the thugs were rendered useless by security agents. They have done the same in Osun and they know that with the presence of soldiers, the thugs won’t have the required freedom to operate, hence their decision to be crying foul,” Adeyeye said.

While urging Osun State people to remain resolute in freeing themselves from APC slavery, Adeyeye said; “We in Ekiti have freed ourselves by electing Dr Ayodele Fayose as our governor.

“The people of Osun must also troupe out massively on Saturday to put a final stop to a government that thrives in demolition of properties and putting the people under the yoke of debt.”
