FCT’s Demolition Bulldozer Kills 3-Year-Old, Mother Commits Suicide

Pandemonium broke out this afternoon during the demolition by FCT authorities of some alleged illegal settlements in the Gwarimpa area of the city, as one of the bulldozers involved in the exercise accidentally killed a 3-year-old boy.

The Nigerian Times learnt that the mother of the child, finding her loss unbearable, took a knife and stabbed herself to death.

Reports have it that expressway leading through Gwarimpa to Zuba has since been blocked by protesting youths from the villages.

“The police have resorted to firing into the air in an attempt to disperse the unyielding crowd. The youths have vowed not go away until they have killed the bulldozer driver,” an eyewitness told The Nigerian Times.

Famous entertainer, Charlie-Boy is said to have gone to the scene to plead with the mob to allow road users pass through, but his enteritis were said to have fallen on deaf ears.
