Imo state governor Rochas Okorocha has been fingered as the mastermind of the burning of former governor Ikedi Ohakim’s house in Owerri Imo state. An impeccable source revealed to thesoutheastnewsonline that it was one of the many strategies mapped out by Okorocha to destabilize Ohakim’s declaration of his 2015 governorship ambition this weekend.
Ohakim who lost to Okorocha in the last election has been fighting hard to regain his lost position. With the dismal performance of Okorocha, the song on the lips of Imo people is: Ikiri ka onyeori mna – which means Ohakim aka Ikiri, is better than a thief as symbolized in Rochas who is looting Imo blind.
Rochas Okorocha who is highly afraid of Ohakims ambition, is doing everything to scuttle such moves. A source close to Ohakims camp said the governor’s press release condemning the incident as diversionary, as Rochas the source insisted, is responsible for the act.

Ohakim might as well planned the bombing himself. Ikiri can do anything to seek for public sympathy. Okorocha won you in a landslide when you were an incumbent. How come now he will bombed your house because of your intention to run for governor’s office when you are not even sure the party that will accept you not even PDP. I do not subscribe to the notion that Rochas is behind this bombing, Rochas do not need to be afraid of Ohakim in the coming election because Ohakim is not a strong contender to Imo State guber-election. I see this as an entry behavior by Ohakim to the guber-race and this is a very dangerous political gimmick. Ndi Imo has grown past this two people and will never be part of this drama.

If the attempt to drag Governor Okorocha’s name to this incident has anything to do with Ohakim, then, it goes without saying that Ohakim actually bombed his own house for cheap political gains. There is nothing I hear about Thief Rochas that I will doubt untill it is proven beyond reasonable doubt that it is not him. Richas is the deadliest criminal we have as a gov in nigeria, if not the world.
