There was a mild drama yesterday at the Government Guest House Abakaliki, the Ebonyi State capital venue of the press conference organised by the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN) as a factional chairman of the council, Mr Peter Olisaemeka disrupted the meeting aimed at endorsing President Goodluck Jonathan’s presidential ambition.
The factional chairman, Comrade Olisaemeka who besieged the venue of the meeting with a team of its factional leadership also laid claim to a brand new bus donated to the council by the Ebonyi State governor, Chief Martin Elechi describing the Hon Charles Nwigbo led group as illegal.
The press conference, was organised by the Hon Charles Nwigbo faction of NYCN aimed at endorsing President Goodluck Jonathan for the presidential election in 2015 and Governor Martin Elechi for the Ebonyi Central Senatorial position.
The state secretary of Hon Nwigbo led faction of the council, Alhaji Ibrahim Ama who spoke to Newsmen said that it took the quick intervention of a team of mobile policemen from the state area command to restore normalcy at the venue as Mr Olisaemeka insisted that the meeting and the endorsement must not go on.
