Kidnappers Abduct Ex- Abia Council TC Chairman’s Wife

Aba, the commercial capital of Abia state seems to be returning to the days when kidnappers took centre stage and brought the town to its knees.

On Wednesday night, the kidnappers abducted the wife of the former Transition Committee Chairman of Obingwa Local Government Area, Mrs. Glory Nwulu.

The abducted woman was said to be on her way to the church in the company of an aide to her husband, Capt. Chris Nnanna, (rtd) when the kidnappers accosted them.

Sources told that the former first lady of the council and Nnanna were riding in a Corolla vehicle close to their residence at Umudukwu Village when the kidnappers on a motorcycle blocked their way, ordered the latter out and drove away with the woman. further gathered that the kidnappers were yet to make any contact with the family. Efforts to reach the ex council boss, Dr. Onyekachi Nwulu did not yield fruit as at press time.

Umudukwu has in recent times become notorious for violent crimes. Barely a week ago, kidnappers stormed the Ehere Modern in the community and abducted a pregnant woman.

Abia state Commissioner of Police, Usman Abubakar who confirmed the incident, stated that his men were on trail of the kidnappers and assured that Mrs Nwulu would soon be rescued.
