Blood sucking demons appear to be on the loose today as fresh information from South East Nigeria indicates that no fewer than 36 passengers in two buses owned by the Rivers State Transport Company have been killed in collision with a long truck along the Onitsha-Owerri express way in Ihiala local council area of Anambra state.
The accident was said to have occurred when a truck loaded with alcoholic drinks jumped into the road from a beer depot while the two Rivers state transport buses on top speed rammed into the truck, killing all passengers on board. The incident which happened at about 11am local time caused heavy traffic on the highway leaving other travelers going to states like Abia, Bayelsa, Imo, Anambra, Rivers and others stranded for hours.

Nigerians are really caught between the rock and a hard place, when it comes to road safety. If the roads are not fixed, accidents pile up, due to mad rush to corner the motorable sections; when they are fixed, it is the same mad rush to get to their destinations on time … in most cased, their graves.
The sad thing is that instead of the passengers restraining the drivers, they resort to prayers and cries of “blood of Jesus”. God has already given you the power to save yourself, use it. Afterall, you paid for the trip.
Mercy Lord!
