Another Accident Claims 36 Lives In Onitsha

Blood sucking demons appear to be on the loose today as fresh information from South East Nigeria indicates that no fewer than 36 passengers in two buses owned by the Rivers State Transport Company have been killed in collision with a long truck along the Onitsha-Owerri express way in Ihiala local council area of Anambra state.

The accident was said to have occurred when a truck loaded with alcoholic drinks jumped into the road from a beer depot while the two Rivers state transport buses on top speed rammed into the truck, killing all passengers on board. The incident which happened at about 11am local time caused heavy traffic on the highway leaving other travelers going to states like  Abia, Bayelsa, Imo, Anambra, Rivers and others stranded for hours.

Officials of Road Safety Corps and other security agencies were also on hand to remove the victims to mortuaries.
