Intensive feelings of well-meaning and excitements were said to have thrilled Anambra State Command of Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, following the redeployment of the Commandant, Mr. Ochogwu Michael Uroko who was before his transfer accused to have raked the Command through some of the Heads of Department of the Corps even as an appeal to investigate the tenure of Commandant Uroko with view of bringing him to book if found wanting has gone to the Minister for Interior and other relevant authorities in Nigeria through the Commandant General of NSCDC, Dr Ade John. Abolurin.
Investigation conducted into the activities of the embattled former Anambra State Commandant of NSCDC revealed that he was posted to into the state under the alleged recommendation of the National Public Relations Officer PRO of the corps who is from the same Benue state command with the man accused to have milked and raked the State Command under impunity within his reign.
It was also gathered that immediately he assumed office, he allegedly directed the then Officer in Charge of Government House, one Casmir (now late) to be deducting (#5,000) five thousand Naira from the monthly stipend of all officers serving in Government House and remit such to his office under the cover that the deducted amount was used in running the activities of the entire command.
Intelligent reports gathered from government House Awka had it that when the deceased O/c Government House faulted the order of the Commandant concerning the deducting of the officers’ monthly stipend, his name was said to be written in red book of the Command and plan(s) to overthrow Casmir was then thickened.
Having discovered that Casmir was solidly rooted in the administration of Mr. Peter Obi, according to reliable sources, the Command’s authorities found it difficult to redeploy him and the option left was for the Command to allegedly wrote a script of murder and Assistant Superintendent of the Corps, (ASC 11) Ebele Uyanze who was deputizing Casmir is today fringed to have perfected the script as Casmir was gruesomely murdered by unknown gunmen..
Carpeting the allegation, ASC 11 Ebele Uyanze who hails from Ununya in Oyi Local Government Area of Anambra state through phone call described the allegation as not only false but a tissue of lies coming from those who never wishes her good.
“How can I be part to murder a man whom I was proposing to be my life partner, those peddling the rumour are my enemies and I am sure that the family of Casmir will even know that such notion was never in my dictionary. I don’t boarder on whatever the allegation the officers are heaping on my head because I am innocent of the accusation” She stated.
Apart from deducting #5,000 from the officers serving in Government House, Awka, all other officers posted in the 27 local government areas are said to be remitting ten percent from their monthly stipends from the council to the office of, Mr. Ochogwu Michael Uroko through the divisional officers, Dos and statistics has it that 20 officers are serving in each council areas in the State.
Moving dipper in their accusation, some of the officers in Government House, Awka under the condition of anonymity alleged that out of many bags of rice given to all of them by Mr. Peter Obi that was to be shared one bag per officer, 30 out of the bags of rice allegedly found its way to the officer of the then 1st Civil Defence officer in the State through ASC 11 Ebele Uyanze.
Commenting on this, Ebele in a very soft spoken manner through handset conversation said; “the said 30 bags was sent to the State Command Headquarters in a bid to accommodate our colleagues in the Command Headquarters, I mean, what is wrong in sharing the good gesture of the then governor with our colleagues” She queried.
From the walls of the Command, it was also gathered that while leaving the State Command, Commandant Ochogwu Michael Uroko allegedly raked the last #1m, which was earlier reserved from the ex-governor’s pathway gift mapped to be shared among other officers but was in custody of now relived from the office of O/c Government House, ASC 11 Ebele Uyanze.
Calling for the probe of , Mr. Ochogwu Michael Uroko, majority of the offices in the command in an accord urges the authorities concerned to set up top investigation machinery to look into the past administration of the already redeployed commandant and bring him to book if culpable, noting that would serve as a deterrent to others.
When contacted for comment through his GSM, Commandant Ochogwu Michael Uroko instead of addressing the issues raised resulted into threat on how to deal with this reporter.
“You see, you are calling me to ask me how is work after you have finished destroying my hard made reputation for something I did not do. Unless you don’t breathe the air created by God, otherwise I will live to pay you with your coin while I will address this issue with you at the appropriate time” he ended.
