Barely two days after a People’s Democratic Party,PDP-based pressure group under the aegis of Anambra Good Governance Torch(AGGT) led by Chief Brian Ojukwu-omenka raised alarm over what they described as massive injustice and fraud on which the parallel primaries of the party where Senator Andy Uba and his political son, Tony Nwoye emerged victorious were conducted last weekend, the party has indicated readiness to revisit the process.

Indications from the Wadata Plaza Headquarters of the party in Abuja, revealed that a lot of unsavory stories have continued to emerge as to what has bolstered Senator Uba’s seeming penchant to ridicule the party directives for fear of competing with others and losing, and also how Nwoye who was earlier thrown out as a result of his tax defaults suddenly got cleared and went ahead to clinch victory effortlessly, or so it seemed.

Party leaders in the country who were now privy to the details of the below the table acts from the two camps have voiced their individual disagreement with any move to present any of the two, as it would mean a smooth sail for the other opposition parties.

Also that it would be a big embarrassment for the party and the nation for a grade A state like Anambra to have someone who has skeleton in his cupboard as the flagbearer of the ruling PDP.

Chief Ojukwu-omenka noted that the opposing candidates from the two parallel factions of the party were a clear prelude to losing the governorship seat to a rival political party.

He said it was regrettable especially in the face of the below average performance of Peter Obi- led APGA administration which now force the outgoing governor into using all manner of gifts of rice, cash, cars and other subtle methods to pull a wool over the eyes of the citizens.

He said the AGGT urge the party secretariat into sanctioning Uba, Nwoye and another candidate- Nicholas Ukachukwu for using undemocratic methods in the two separate primaries. They were accused of cloning the delegates tags with which they smuggled in non-PDP members into the venue of the primary at the Dr Ekwueme Square in Awka.

A member of the G21 Group of the party in Anaocha LGA of the state, Dr Kenneth Azinge expressed concern that “Nwoye was found to have defaulted in the payment of his annual taxes, as at when due, and was consequently disqualified by the party’s screening panel. That it was amazing that all the boastings by his sponsors, backers and supporters that things must sway in their favor on the return of the Party chiefs that went on lesser hajj actually worked out accordingly.

He also accused most of the aspirants of using all manner of tactics alien to democracy- like the unleashing of various named campus cult groups to manipulate the primary processes and subdue opponents.
