As the leaders of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) battles for the soul of the party, members of the party in South Africa have accused the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) of being behind the raging crisis.

In a release signed by Odinaka Emejuru, Kingsley Maduka -Young and Kingsley Kanu, Chairman, Secretary and Treasurer, a copy of which was made available to journalists, APGA South African chapter said the PDP is responsible for the crisis in the party.

“PDP is responsible for the leadership crisis plaguing APGA. Without first stopping PDP from all the worms that they have been planting in APGA and all other opposition political parties, it will be a more herculean task to save Nigeria from the strangle-hold of PDP.

“One problem that faces the Nigerian populace is the lack of ideological following to political parties. Most Nigerians cannot tell you exactly why they follow PDP. All that is certain is that the followers of PDP can be as rich as they wish … but that will not last.

“All what APGA and other progressive political parties can do is to strengthen their ideological standpoint and educate the Nigerian populace that there is more wealth in the absence of the corruption which is PDP,” they said.

The group maintains that the PDP has been working to destabilize the opposition parties because it fears that the coming together of the parties in any election would bring an end to the PDP in Nigeria and called on the parties to form alliances to defeat the ruling PDP in the next elections.

It further called on Nigerians to support the opposition parties in the 2015 as only this will guarantee a better life for the citizenry.
