Ado-Ekiti — A video circulating on social media platform X (formerly Twitter) shows a officer of the Nigeria Police Force exhibiting erratic and unstable behavior in Asin Ekiti, Ikole Local Government Area of Ekiti State.
Eyewitnesses and residents who captured the footage alleged that the police officer was under the heavy influence of illicit substances, locally referred to as “Colos” (synthetic cannabis/Colorado).
The footage shows the uniformed officer displaying erratic body movements and incoherence in public view, prompting alarm and outcry among community members over public safety and police conduct.
Local residents and digital activist groups have called on the Inspector General of Police (IGP) and the Ekiti State Police Command to identify the officer involved, subject him to medical evaluation and substance testing, and initiate appropriate disciplinary procedures.
