OSOGBO — Information regarding certified vote counts and confirmed outcomes for the Osun State governorship election remains pending from official electoral authorities, as voters and observers across the state await validated updates.
Throughout election day, multiple reports emerged across media channels detailing logistical challenges and security incidents in several localities. Reports indicated significant disruptions at select polling units, including incidents where election officials were forced to flee voting areas amid destruction of electoral materials and damage to nearby vehicles.
In parallel, high-profile security standoffs drew public attention across the state. Reports emerged that security personnel deployed to Osogbo established a perimeter around the residence of the Speaker of the Osun State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Adewale Egbedun, restricting movement in and out of the compound. Additionally, musical artist David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, publicly alleged that military personnel at a security checkpoint attempted to deny his convoy access into Osun State.
