OSOGBO — Media mogul and political chieftain Chief Dele Momodu has issued a stern warning to Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke ahead of the August 15, 2026, governorship election, alleging that the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) is determined to “grab” the state at all costs as a trial run for the 2027 presidential election.
In a personal message addressed to the governor, Momodu urged Adeleke not to expect a free, fair, or credible contest from the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) under President Bola Tinubu’s administration.
Momodu claimed that political allies within the APC revealed that party foot-soldiers have received directives to secure victory in Osun “by any means necessary” regardless of the political fallout.
“Let no one deceive you that INEC, under the complete control of President Bola Tinubu, will organize a free, fair and credible election in Osun State next week, August 15, 2026,” Momodu stated. “The ruling APC government is determined to use your election as the dress rehearsal for their nefarious preparation for the Presidential election in January 2027.”
Encouraging the governor to remain steadfast in his leadership and achievements, Momodu advised Adeleke to rely on his performance track record and faith.
“We have a lot of friends in APC and we’ve been warned to expect any eventuality. The instruction to their foot-soldiers is simple: grab Osun by any means necessary and deal with the resultant volcano thereafter,” Momodu added. “Please, hold on tightly to God as you’ve always been. We are proud of the uncommon work you’ve done, and doing.”
The statement comes amid rising political tensions in Osun State as major political parties intensify campaigns and grassroots mobilization ahead of the governorship poll.
