OKO — The people of Orumba North and South Federal Constituency have declared that the era of sending “touts and illiterates” to represent them at the National Assembly is officially over. In a powerful stakeholder meeting held in Oko, the community sent a stern warning to political parties, stating they will no longer tolerate “killers and 419ers” in positions of power.

The call was led by the APGA Democratic Front, headed by Nze Ndubuisi J. Okoye. The group insisted that for the 2027 elections, the constituency requires well-educated individuals with wide exposure and a genuine heart for the people—not those who provide low-quality roads and abandoned water projects.

A Direct Appeal to Governor Soludo
Nze Okoye made a direct appeal to Governor Chukwuma Soludo, urging him to take a personal interest in the selection process for the Orumba North and South Federal House of Representatives seat. He cautioned the Governor against repeating the “mistakes of the past,” specifically citing the previous selections of Okwudili Ezenwankwo and Chinwe Nnabuife, which the group claims failed to deliver the quality of representation the district deserves.

“We want sincere people,” Okoye declared. “The time for sending people who lack the capacity for intellectual debate and legislative exposure is gone. Our people deserve representatives who understand their needs and have the integrity to follow through on promises.”

Shifting the Political Standard
The community expressed frustration over years of substandard projects and a lack of vibrant advocacy in Abuja. By setting a new standard for 2027, Orumba stakeholders are demanding a shift from “transactional politics” to “merit-based leadership.” The group emphasized that the next representative must be someone capable of competing on the national stage to bring home meaningful development rather than mere “stomach infrastructure.”

As the political season begins to heat up in Anambra State, this ultimatum from Orumba serves as a clear signal to all aspirants: only those with proven education and a clean record need apply.
