ALIMOSHO, LAGOS STATE — The Lagos State Police Command has arrested ten suspects following a violent outbreak that disrupted the All Progressives Congress (APC) House of Representatives primary election in Alimosho Local Government Area.

The incident, which occurred on Saturday, May 16, 2026, left several party members with severe injuries.

The Attack

According to police and eyewitness accounts, the violence erupted on Onilewura Street, along Liasu Road in the Egbe area. Armed hoodlums and thugs loyal to opposing aspirants stormed the election venue.

The attackers, carrying machetes and firearms, began shooting sporadically into the air and attacking attendees. The sudden onslaught triggered a massive stampede as voters, delegates, and electoral officials fled for safety.
