Nigerian Army troops operating under Operation UDO KA successfully raided an IPOB/ESN hideout in Imezi Owa, Enugu State, on May 6, 2026, dismantling a suspected ritual shrine.

Following an ambush, a firefight ensued, leading to the detonation of stockpiled Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) within the building. While three soldiers were injured, troops recovered additional explosive devices and apprehended a suspect.

Lt. Col. Olabisi Ayeni, representing the 82 Division, emphasized the military’s commitment to restoring peace in the region and urged community cooperation.
