Bauchi, Nigeria – The Bauchi State chapter of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) has categorically denied reports alleging that Governor Bala Abdulkadir Muhammed is planning to defect from the party. In a statement, the PDP described the claims as “false, misleading, and irresponsible”, urging the public to disregard the unverified reports.
The party’s position was made clear in a statement signed by its spokesperson, emphasizing that such rumors are likely a result of digital manipulation and artificial intelligence. “We urge the public to resist the spread of fake news and remain vigilant in this age of information overload,” the statement read.
The PDP Bauchi chapter reiterated its commitment to upholding the principles of the party and assured members of its continued dedication to democratic values. The denial comes amidst speculation about the governor’s political future and growing concerns about political instability in the state.
The party emphasized the importance of truth, institutional discipline, and democratic maturity in overcoming propaganda, stating that these values will “always outlast propaganda”.
