The Concerned PDP Northern Minorities Consultative Forum, a steadfast watchdog of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) since its formation in 2016 following the Ali Modu Sheriff crisis, unequivocally condemns the 6-point agenda proposed by former Rivers State Governor and current Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, and his associates.

This agenda, outlined during a stakeholders’ meeting on September 1, 2025, threatens the unity and constitutional integrity of our great party.

The Concerned PDP Northern Minorities Consultative Forum, under the leadership of its Spokesman, Mr Jessy Mallums, has consistently stood for truth, justice, and adherence to the PDP’s constitution.

While we have previously supported Senator Samuel Anyanwu in defending the party’s constitutional framework, particularly following the Supreme Court’s affirmation of his position as National Secretary in March 2025, we firmly oppose any attempt to destabilize the PDP through unauthorized agendas or actions that undermine the party’s leadership and organs.

We wish to make it clear that Mr. Nyesom Wike, who holds no official position within the PDP and remains an ordinary member, lacks the authority to impose a 6-point agenda or disrupt the party’s established processes.

The PDP’s constitution, as upheld by the Supreme Court, clearly defines the roles of the National Executive Committee (NEC), the National Working Committee (NWC), and other organs in guiding the party’s affairs.

The NEC has approved the upcoming national convention, as signed by the National Chairman, Ambassador Umar Ilyas Damagum, and National Secretary, Senator Samuel Anyanwu. This convention will proceed as planned to strengthen the PDP’s unity and prepare for the 2027 elections.

The Concerned PDP Northern Minorities Consultative Forum will not tolerate any maneuvers that threaten the peace and stability of the PDP.

We stand firmly behind the National NEC of PDP, and all loyal PDP members who prioritize the party’s unity and progress. We call on Mr. Wike and his allies to respect the party’s constitution and desist from actions that could deepen the PDP’s internal challenges.

If Mr. Wike believes his agenda supersedes the party’s constitutional provisions, we challenge him to seek redress through the courts, as the PDP remains a law-abiding organization.

The Concerned PDP Northern Minorities Consultative Forum urges all party members and stakeholders to rally behind the PDP’s leadership and support the upcoming national convention. Let us unite to uphold the principles of fairness, equity, and internal democracy that have defined the PDP since its inception.

Together, we can ensure that the PDP remains a formidable force for the people of Nigeria.

Signed,
Mr Jessy Mallums,
Concerned PDP Northern Minorities Consultative Forum
