In a significant stride toward unlocking Bauchi State’s mineral potential, a high-profile delegation from Shandong Province, China, joined the Honourable Commissioner for Mineral Resources, Hon. M.M Bello (Sadaukin Alkaleri), on a courtesy visit to the Emir of Dass, His Royal Highness Dr. Usman Bilyaminu Usman, at his Guest House in Dass.
The visit marks a pivotal moment in the ongoing mineral exploration efforts across the state, aimed at fostering international partnerships and attracting foreign investment into Bauchi’s rich but underutilized mineral sector.
Speaking during the visit, Hon. M.M Bello emphasized the state’s commitment to transparency, sustainability, and community engagement in its resource development strategy. He noted that the collaboration with Shandong Province renowned for its technological expertise and mining infrastructure would bring advanced exploration techniques and capacity-building opportunities to local stakeholders.
“This partnership is not just about minerals; it’s about empowering our communities, creating jobs, and positioning Bauchi as a key player in Nigeria’s mining renaissance,” Bello stated.
The Emir of Dass, Dr. Usman Bilyaminu Usman, warmly welcomed the delegation and expressed his support for initiatives that promote economic growth and cultural exchange. He highlighted the importance of respecting local customs and ensuring that development projects align with the interests of host communities.

The visit concluded with discussion on mineral sites and a closed-door meeting to implement technical frameworks and investment modalities.
