The new Commissioner of Police in State, CP Aderemi Adeoye, has advocated the need for more synergy among security agencies to enable them rid the state of criminality and insecurity.
The Commissioner made the call on Thursday, when he visited the Comptroller of Immigration Service in the State, CIS Edirin Endurance Okoto in Awka, the State capital.
Speaking at the event, CP Adeoye said the essence of his visit was to strengthen inter-agency collaboration, cooperation and coordination to enable the two security organisations combat crime effectively in the State.
The Commissioner, who expressed zero tolerance for crime, promised to sustain and cement the good working relationship already existing between his predecessor, the CIS and the two Commands, for better results in their services to the people of the State.
Responding, the Comptroller of Immigration Service in the State, CIS Okoto who received the CP in company of some senior officers, assured him of maximum cooperation and inter-agency collaboration.
How recalled how he and the new Commissioner had earlier carried out some operations collectively in the State during the Commissioner’s earlier missionary journey in the State, including during the last general election.
He further commended him for deeming it worthy and necessary to visit him, and pledged to give the police all the necessary support to combat crime in the state.
“Security is not a one man affair, and that is why all the sister agencies have to collaborate to achieve a common goal. Be assured of our maximum cooperation,” he said.
Highpoint of the event was signing of Visitors Register by the Police Commissioner, as well as exchange of plague between the two security heads. Some senior officers from the two Commands were also present during the visit.
