International Group Launch COVID 19 Public Service Messages Targeted At Rural Mbaise Communities

New York, April 16, An international organization, the Mbaise Policy Roundtable (MPR), with offices in owerri Imo State and New York USA, has released a series of COVID 19 public service messages, in slide and video tape formats, targeted at different audiences, namely, the Mbaise general public, healthcare professionals and the youths.

This is ahead of its planned 4 weeks intensive, innovative knowledge based, Mbaise-wide, Ward to Ward  “MPR Coronavirus Prevention Awareness Program (MCPAP)”.The video message for the Mbaise general public, the healthcare professionals in the frontlines of the COVID 19 fight, and the youths were presented by Dr Esochi Iheoma, DDS, Lady Nwamaka Oparaoji, a healthcare administrator, and Ambassador AJ Statiles, the Mbaise Youths Ambassador, respectively.

The instructions were to avoid handshakes, touching of face with unwashed or unsanitized hands, venturing outside the house unless absolutely necessary, and even so to wear a protective face mask and observe social distancing. They also advocated frequent washing of hands with soap and water or cleaning with sanitizers. Dr Iheoma further instructed and demonstrated how to make and wear a protective face mask.

Lady Oparaoji in her presentation, commended the Doctors, Nurses, and other members of the healthcare team on the frontlines of this fight against COVID 19. She further appealed to the public to do their part in not contacting the disease, and overwhelm an already overstretched healthcare systems.

The presenters also commended the MPR for taking the lead, in encouraging Mbaise sons and daughters, Mbaise organizations to donate food, cash, and other services, to the poor, to help cushion the hunger and harsdhip from COVID 19 prevention measures.
