Jigawa State Governor in self isolation, closes border

As stories of pandemic circulates in the country, rumors and speculation has also began making rounds in Jigawa state concerning Governor Badaru Abubakar has gone in isolation. He was said to have made contact with a coronavirus carrier.

It is reliably gathered that since that the governor cancelled attending daily prayers in mosque with the public. He also cancelled council meeting at the government house, including all political gatherings.

 But the commissioner of health in the state Dr. Abba Umar Zakari denied the governor has become infected with Covid 19 indicating that there are no official report on his results.

The health commissioner explained that the story is not true. He explained that there are two suspected cases of covid 19 and their blood samples have been taken to Abuja test center.  

The commissioner also mentioned the state government has held meetings with ulamas, okada rider’s drivers and civil society bodies to educate them on the danger of the disease.

He disclosed that from 12 midnight of Friday that all state borders neighboring with Jigawa state would be closed down with a view to restrict the movement of people from one state to another.
