Insecurity: Zamfara Govt. donates cash, relief materials to victims

The Zamfara Government has donated N27.5 million cash, food items and clothes to victims of bandit attacks in Dansadau Emirate of Maru Local Government Area of the state.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the victims are from Kwanar Dusti, Anguwar Kawo, Randa, Mutunji, Malele, Jesa and Mahuta communities.

The Speaker of the state House of Assembly, Alhaji Sanusi Rikiji, who while presented the donations to the victims in Gusau, said the gesture was to alleviate their suffering.

Rikiji said each of the 46 benefiting families of the deceased would be given N500,000, five bags of assorted grains and clothes.

He said N250,000 was for 10 persons who lost their homes.

โ€œThe 10 injured persons and six other persons who lost their motorcycles would be given N100, 000 each,โ€ he said.

He, however, urged the public to remain calm, prayerful and seek Allahโ€™s interventions to end the crises.

โ€œYou are all aware of the efforts the President is already making to address the dwindling security challenges in this state.

โ€œGov. AbdulAziz Yari has also been providing logistic support and allowances to security agencies in the state to complement the efforts of the Federal Government in tackling the menace headlong,โ€™โ€™ he said.

The Emir of Dansadau, Alhaji Hussaini Umar, thanked the government for the gesture and appealed for more interventions from both the state and the Federal Government.
