Emerging results from one of the strong holds of the All Progressive Congress [APC], Kano indicates the opposition party, the Peoples Democratic Party [PDP] may have captured it. This is as results confirmed by the INEC from 43 LGAs out of the existing 44 LGAs of Kano State show the PDP edging ahead of the APC gubernatorial candidate.

Gov. Ganduje

Currently, PDP now polled 951,531 votes as against APC’s 935,451 votes. Thus, PDP is leading with a margin of 16,080 votes in the state.

Meanwhile field reports available to 247ureports.com but not yet confirmed by the INEC reveals that election results from the remaining LGA places the PDP candidate [Abba Kabir Yusuf], an associate to a former governor of Kano, Rabiu Kwankwaso, comfortably ahead of the APC gubernatorial candidate, a rival to Kwankwaso.

Chieftains of the APC, it is gathered have already began closed door meetings and consultations on the way forward. An APC source close to the presidency indicates that the APC chieftains in Kano have agreed to meet with Governor Ganduje to impress on him to accept the results and concede defeat.

But associates of the Governor denies the Governor was asked to accept defeat. They claim the Governor have not lost the election.

Gov Ganduje had promised President Buhari 5million votes from Kano State towards the presidential polls. Ganduje pledged to deliver the entire Kano State eligible votes to the President.
