Benue Police Parade Car Robbery Syndicate, Suspected Arm Manufacturers

The Benue State Police Command have paraded a three man armed robbery suspects who specializes in stealing cars, robbing and dispossessing victims of their valuables.

The police also bursted a local arm fabricating location in Yelwata, Guma local government area of the state and arrested one Donatus Ahongh and Boyi Ayaayua and recovered 12 assorted locally fabricated guns, one AK47 rifle magazine and their manufacturing implements.

The State Police Commissioner, Ene Okon paraded the suspected armed robbers along side the Toyota Corolla car they robbed from their victim and displayed assorted locally made arms and rounds of live ammunition.

CP Ene Okon who briefed newsmen on the recent successes of the command, at the command’s headquarters in Makurdi said the suspects; Goodwin Akaa,  Jonathan Terungwa and Suleiman Stephen were arrested in North Bank area of Makurdi after they robbed a family and dispossessed them of a black Toyota car, a flat screen TV and other valuables.

He disclosed that the stolen car with registration no. CN 157 BBC was later recovered from Nguru LGA of Yobe state after it was sold to a buyer who is now at large, at the cost of N250,000 only.

The three man gang armed robbers in an interview with journalists told incoherent stories on the incident but owned up to their crime.

Meanwhile, the owner of the stolen vehicle, Dr David Ancha narrated his ordeal in the hands of the hoodlums. He expressed joy that his ptoperties have neen recovered and commended the police for doing a great work in the state.

CP Ene Okon, had expressed his best wishes to the people of Benue state and assured that his mn are committed to their safety especially at this festive period.

“I have a great Christmas gift for the people of Benue and that is total saftey all the times. I am aware of the command’s enormous responsibility to ensure safety of lives and properties in the state. This, I am determined to achieve,” he said warning criminals to stay clear or anyone caught will face prosecution.

The CP also said to ensure safety of travellers at this period, the command has dispatched a group of Anti Bomb squad with metal detectors to all motor parks in the state to detect bombs and othe destructive gadgets.

“We have not only deployed to motor parks but also to drinking joints and other hot spots to ensure that all activities at this period and beyond are safe.

He urged travellers be wise and go to authorized motor parks to board vehicles for their trip saying it it dangerous and risky to stand by the road side to get a free ride or cheap transportation.
