Governor Willie Obiano of Anambra state has reiterated his administration’s commitment towards the welfare of the civil servants in the state.

He said the welfare of the state workforce remained paramount to his government.

Speaking during the third Quadrennial Delegate Conference of the Association of Senior Civil Servants of Nigeria, Anambra state chapter in Awka, Obiano, represented by the state Head of Service, Barr. Harry Udu, reassured the workers that he would fulfill all the promises he made to them.

He appreciated the civil servants in the state for their unalloyed support to his administration especially, during the last year’s governorship election that granted him landslide victory.

The governor called on them to always discharge their duties effectively and efficiently for the overall development of the state.

Responding, the National President of the Association, Comrade Bobboi Kaigama, represented by the Vice President, South East Region of the Association, Comrade Kennis Ngene applauded the governor for his sterling performance in the state.

“Your outstanding performance especially the prompt payment of workers’ salaries, efficient security network, infrastructural development among others is unprecedented,” he said.

He however appealed to him to also look at the issue of housing confronting the state work force.

On his part, the state chairman of the Association, Comrade Ifeanyi Okechukwu, said the conference provided the members opportunity to interact and resolve issues that bind them together in order to move the Union forward.

He hailed the governor for distinguishing himself as the only governor that was up to date in payment of civil servants’ gratuity as well as the current recruitment of over one thousand teachers in the state.
