The Joint Action Committee (JAC) of the Federal Polytechnic Bauchi have embarked on indefinite strike over non payment of accumulated twenty seven months of academic allowance.
The Committee further, demanded an urgent explanation from Management on what they institution has done with over 240 million Naira unused personnel cost it has accumulated in five months after Salary payments.
Addressing journalists yesterday the  JAC Chairman Bauchi State Comrade Ahmed Musa Mukaddas said that the actual number of staff on payroll of the Polytechnic cannot be determined because of illegal recruitment embarked on by the Rector.
He said the JAC is very interested in knowing where the millions are stashed and why there is such balance while complaining that there are a lot of inadequacies in laborotories and workshops all over the Polytechnic and the Rector has driven deaf ear to it.
‎He said the JAC wants to know the actual number of staff on the payroll of the institution and why it failed to organise a convocation in the last seven years, adding that the inadequacies in laboratories and workshops all over the polytechnic is a source of worry to them.
He said the JAC is condemning in strong terms illegal recruitment of new Staff until all their outstanding staff benefits are paid.
