The Akwa Ibom State Police Command Special Operation Unit in a dawn sting operation in Ukanafun and its adjoining Local Government arrested 23 suspected members of criminal gangs and cultist who have in recent weeks been causing mayhem.

 

Upon receipt of actionable intelligence, operatives of the unit on 09/7/2017 swopped down on these hoodlums at different locations. They include;

  2. Walter Johnson Mendie
  3. Unyime Aniekan George
  4. Uyo Samuel Unah
  5. Nyakno Friday Abraham
  6. Iboro Archibong Usenideh
  7. Unyime Sunday Unah
  8. Ofonasak Ufonime Dick
  9. Aniekan Moses Ebeowo
  10. Udim Monday Udo
  11. Promise Debas Johnson
  12. Bassey Isaac Udo-Usoro
  13. Isaac Sunday Johnson
  14. Hope Michael Udo
  15. Emmanuel Sunday Unah
  16. Godsgift Odudu Sunday
  17. Emayak Friday Udoudo
  18. Utibe Aniekan George
  19. Uwemedimo Udo
  20. Ofonime Aniekan George
  21. Joel Sunday Unah
  22. Ofonime Friday Ohayi
  23. Anietie Monday Johnson

Exhibits recovered from them include:

*       One suspected stolen LG plasma television

*       Eight expended cartridges

*       28 rounds of pellets

*       A blue robber net

*       One Techno phone

*       The sum of N5,300

 

The Commissioner of Police Akwa Ibom State Command, Don Awunah fsi, Amnipr wishes to enjoin all well-meaning Akwa Ibomites to continue sharing credible information with the Police as this feat was only achieved  through such cooperation.  The CP also reiterates his unwavering stand to rid the state and its environs of all forms of criminality.  The Command also wishes to implore parents and guardians to maintain close parental supervision of their children/wards in order to prevent them from keeping bad company and indulging in criminal activities.

The arrested suspects will be charged to court on completion of investigation.
