The Police in Aba, Abia state have smashed an armed robbery gang robbery terrorizing residents of the city and environs.

The gang had robbed a yet to be identified owner of a Toyota Sienna car of his car, mobile phones, an undisclosed amount of cash and other valuables at a popular supermarket along Ikot Ekpene road, Aba,  as he escaped from them.

Residents of the area alerted the Police Area Commander in Aba, ACP Peter Wagbara who mobilized the Ogbor Hill Police Division to block suspected exit routes which led the gang to divert to the Ururuka road.

Contacted, the Aba Area Commander, ACP Peter Wagbara stated that the corpse of the deceased robber had been deposited at a morgue in the city while Police have launched a manhunt for the fleeing members of the gang. He called on residents not to hesitate to volunteer useful information about suspected movements to the Police, and assured that such will be treated in strict confidence.
