The traditional ruler of Nkpor, Idemili North Local Government Area of Anambra state, His Royal Highness, Igwe Christopher Ibegunam was allegedly struck death while blessing kola nuts in Abuja, the federal capital territory.
According to the report, Igwe Ibegunam whom until his death was yet to celebrate this year’s new yam festival in his kingdom but went to Abuja to assist in soliciting for the release of one of his subjects who was arrested by the police authorities in Nigeria in connection with criminal matter.
It was gathered that after the release of the suspect, the traditional ruler was allegedly invited to attend the new yam festival of Nkpor Community in Abuja and while he raised a kola nuts up for blessing, he allegedly slumped and died.
