The battle ranging between the Delta State Governor, Senator (Dr) Ifenayi Arthir Okowa and some of his aides who are aggrieved with their principal for failing to apportion state lands to them would spell doom for the government soon, 247ureports.com can authoritatively report.

Investigations revealed that the lands currently been assigned by Okowa to his cronies through the Commissioner for Lands, Survey and Urban Development, Mr. Dan Okenyi, are for those who threw their weights behind the governor during the 2015 gubernatorial race in the state.

It was gathered that Okowa’s decision to allot lands for his allies was due to the economic recession bedevilling the country, making it impossible for money to be doled out to his associates who sponsored his election.

It was reliably learnt that one of the state owned lands located in Asaba, just opposite the former acting governor, Rt. Hon. Sam Obi’s house has currently been shared out by the governor.

A source close to the corridor of power said the land which is named Garden of Liberty was shared out in 100 by 100 without single payment to the state as some pals close to the government got as many as 10 plots.

It was reliably learnt that the decision of the governor not to dish out lands to some political appointees led to a squabble between them and Okenyi.

Findings revealed that the governor sternly warned that no portion of the land must be sold but developed by those who got them as the said land was not far from the Government House.

Unconfirmed source said that the portion of the land Okowa distributed to his Chief Press Secretary (CPS), Mr.  Charles Ehiedu Aniagwu, who is wasting the state resources holidaying in the United States of America, is where he is presenting building a gigantic hotel on even as some friends of the governor have since flouted the directive not to sell any portion of the land.
