Armed robbers wearing military coma-flags and police vest Wednesday rain terror in Enugu State Metropolis, killed one, injuring four, and snatched three vehicles.
Meanwhile efforts of the combined operation of the security agencies has led to and killing of one and the arrest of two members of the gang of eight armed robbers last night.
Confirming the incident, the state police public relations officer, SP Ebere Amaraizu told our reporter that their special squads are on the trail of the robbers.
According to him, “the hoodlums had allegedly operated around Edingburgh /Ogui new layout axis and some of the metro in the afternoon of 22/8/16 which allegedly led to the death one person before swooped on by the operatives of the command who confronted them headlong and ensuring that they did not have a free day.”
247ureports.com gathered that the hoodlums who stormed at Edingburgh roundabout a popularly known as ‘council’ where min-buses load passengers from Obiagu to Abakpa around 4:50pm killed a boy of about 26year old.
It was gathered that the boy saw two of the hoodlums at the Council bus top and told three of his friends that the boys are criminals. Unfortunately one of the robbers over heard him and immediately he rushed him and asked you want ‘cast us’. When another member of the group heard his colleague shouting ‘you wan cast’, he shot the boy but didn’t get him.
The boy took to his hill but the robber chased and killed before snatching three cars: Senna, and two Toyota Camry one Spider and fled away.
An eyewitness who preferred anonymity told our reporter that the (robbers) where wearing military coma-flag and police vests.
The residence of the Obiagu and onlooker who witnessed the whole incident blamed police for waiting for over one hour before resurfacing in the area even when the Uwani police station is four poles away from the scene while Ogui police station is also in a close proximity didn’t show-up till the robbers fled.
