The embattled APGA Anambra Central Senatorial candidate in the postponed rerun election, Chief  Victor Umeh said his interrogation by men of the Department of Security Service was borne out of the act of mischief markers trying to destroy his political image.
He said though they planned that he should be detained till elections are over but quick intervention of Governor Willie Obiano and fate delivered him from the lion’s den.
Chief Umeh who disclosed this at the Akanu Ibiam International Airport Enugu, assured his supporters that his resolve to deliver virile legislative achievements to the People of Anambra Central & Ndigbo at large is unshakable.
Describing how he was sandwiched in the DSS vehicle and made to travel by road from Enugu to Abuja, he said the men of the Department of State Security Service were misinformed about his political campaign Messages and extolled them for standing on the part of truth in the interest of fair hearing .
He Said ” I was caged in the DSS van made not to have anything on me not even my telephone or to have one naira in my pocket _ but I thank God my detractors have failed again”.
He continued ” their plans was to keep me out of reach to enable them rig the election and deny my pple the right to vote for a candidate of their choice but God will not be on the side of mischief makers. I want to thank my Governor, Chief Willie Obiano for his relentless support and intervention up to an extent of calling the DG of DSS to absolve me of the frivolous allegation “.
He said. It would be recalled that men of the Department of State Security Service arrested Chief Victor Umeh on Thursday, whisked him to Abuja for interrogation on treason related allegations leveled against him.
