Ocholi: We have lost most approachable minister- APC

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has said that the party has lost one of the most approachable minister in President Muhammadu Buhari’s government.

The party said this at the APC national Secretariat on Tuesday, when the members of the National Working Committee (NWC) took time to eulogise the attributes of the late minister, called for the proper immortalisation of the deceased.

While paying his tribute, national vice chairman APC in the South-south, Hillard Etta, who described the late Ocholi as a perfect gentle man, added that “you could smell his humility miles away. He was one of the most approachable ministers in the cabinet.”

In his own, APC national secretary, Mai Mala Buni, who said the late minister lived a fulfilled life, added that he was a committed party member.

“He lived a fulfilled live, he was a committed party member. His demise was a great loss to this party, this nation and the people of Kogi State. We must take solace in the fact that death is inevitable end and one thing that can not be predicted. We as a party must do everything possible to ensure that Chief James Ocholi is properly immortalised.”

For the national organising secretary, Ozita Izunaso, who revealed that most of the things in the party’s constitution today were made possible by the late minister, also recalled that Mr. Ocholi actually administered the oat of office on the present NWC members.

Meanwhile, the acting national chairman, Chief Segun Oni, has raised concern concerning the killings of the APC members in River state, following the death of a ward chairman Mr. Franklin Obi, who was murdered alongside his wife and son recently.

Segun Oni, however chided the media for not giving adequate reportage of the attacks “against members of the APC in Rivers and other places” called on the security agencies to rise up and stem the the tides of violence in the state.

“The police and other security agencies should take responsibilities for what is happening in Rivers State, this is a very serious issue and you as members of the press should see what is happening as real emergency that should not be treated with kid gloves “.
