– President of Burutu Transformation Student Ambassadors, Arerebo Salaco Yerinmene Peters Jr. Decries Inept Leadership Of Hon. Ebikeme Clark
The Burutu political leaders in tandem with the notorious former political godfather to the former president of the federation, Dr. Goodluck Jonathan – in the person of Edwin Clark may be facing the consequences stemming from his imposition of his son, Ebukeme Clark as the local government area [LGA] of Burutu LGA.
This is made evident through a recent press release signed by the President of Burutu Transformation Student Ambassadors, Arerebo Salaco Yerinmene Peters Jr – indicating that the LGA has become abandoned since the coming of Edwin Clark’s son.
The release stated that the schools at the LGA had never suffered such neglect and disregard by the chairman and his cabinet. Arerebo Peter’s Jr. noted that the chairman does not reside within the LGA nor does he visit the LGA. “He resides in Warri“. Arerebo went on to blame the electorate for allowing such a person to be elected to represent them. Arerebo called for the dismissal of the Clark should he refuse to sit up. His words ” If he decided not to amend his leadership style for the acceptability of the good people of burutu then is the responsibility and decision of the youths (the leaders of today and tomorrow) to call for his sack/dismiss in one voice.”
He continued to state, “I will like to comemnd a popular Niger Delta Activist, Austin Ozobo and Snr Comr Collins Doubra Okotete, chairman Ijaw Youth Council (IYC) Ogulagha Kingdom and others for the timely smart and ordely clarion call to the youth of Burutu to exercise their democratic right for the prosperity and restoration of our only local government.”

Adding muster to the charge by the group were natives of the Burutu LGA who spoke to 247ureports.com regarding their plight. Many lamented the utter disregard of the office of the chairman and his responsibilities. “All they do is collect money in our name from the federal government and do nothing“, said a fisherman Abili who was visibly distraught over the neglect of the communities within the LGA. “Go and see how the LGA headquarter is now. It has become home for snakes and other wild animals. The place is overgrown with weeds. Its a disgrace“.
Interestingly, cursory investigation confirms that the chairman of the said LGA may have abandoned the LGA. This is as the Chairman collects from the federal accounts a warping sum of N170million monthly equivalent to N2billion annually. And as gathered, the monies from the federated accounts are shared within a few godfathers – without utilizing it for the development of the LGA. The LGA is reportedly on of the largest LGA’s in the geopolitical zone.
Some of the schools inside the LGA [shown on the picture] depict the dilapidation highlighted by the press statement. Particular attention is paid to Oyagbene community school, Gbesa grammar school in Ojobo, Ayakoromo grammar school, Engbeilebiri primary school and others.
