As a back drop of the recent supreme court judgement on the leadership of People’s Democratic Party PDP which has put a faction of the party led by Chief Ken Emeakai on its toes, a member of the Board of Trustee of All Progressive Grand Alliance APGA and proprietor Rojenny Games Village Oba near Onitsha Chief Rommy Ezeonwuka has dismissed the hope of the Anambra state chapter of the People Democratic Party PDP to oust APGA and take over the seat of power come 2018 governorship election saying that the dream of the PDP will not come to reality.
Ezeonwuka, who was reacting to the statement credited to Chief Ken Emeakai led faction of the PDP that the party will take over Anambra despite what the party is passing through now, stated that PDP cannot win governorship election in Anambra because of the pains the party inflicted on the state through poor leadership from 1999 to 2006 noting that the party nearly dragged Anambra to a state of ruin by treating all sectors of governance with reckless abandon.
He said, “as a party in power PDP moved Anambra state backward and nearly ruined the state. PDP failed to make any meaningful impact on the lives of Anambrarians for seven good years. No education for three terms as all schools in the state were closed for one good year. The worst is that the party introduced Bakkasi boys who killed many young people in the name of crime fighting as security agents, The party is guilty of those who were killed by Bakkasi boys including the lawyer, Barnabas Igwe and his pregnant wife who died mysteriously during the era of Bakkasi boys operations”.
The Ogirisi Igbo went further to note that with Bakkasi boys PDP could not solve the problem of security in Anambra state but APGA without Bakkasi boys has provided adequate security in the state and that shows the extend APGA rates better than PDP, adding that PDP leadership should first of all think of apologizing to Ndi Anambra for their misrule and do atonement to deliver the party from sin and curse which absent of education for one year and operations of Bakkasi boys brought on the party.
He continued, “PDP committed a lot of sin that brought curse on the party and a party under curse cannot know peace or organizes itself to win governorship election, the party should atone for its numerous sins and stop dreaming about ousting the party that delivered Anambra from PDP predicaments. APGA has delivered Anambra from PDP misrule and the good people of the state cannot abandon the party that has done so well for them to embrace the party that nearly ruined the state with poor leadership”
On the Supreme Court judgement on Abia governorship election that ruled against APGA candidate Alex Otti, the BoT member described the judgement as “questionable” alleging that forces against APGA have prevailed once more. He however appealed to supporters of Otti and entire members of APGA in Abia state to remain calm, believe in the party and start working for a better tomorrow hoping that the party would do better in subsequent elections.
