The serene environment residents of Enugu metropolis has being enjoying since the beginning of Ugwuanyi’s administration have eroded following the activities of devious men believed to be secret cult members.

At the last count, about three men have been gunned down and it is not certain if more will not go down.

It was gathered that two young men were shot and killed by rival cultists at different locations at Akwuke, Tuesday.

Police has confirmed the incident.

It was also gathered that another one was shot in broad day light at Umuonu, near Garriki area on Wednesday.  Both incidents took place at Enugu South Local Government Area of Enugu State.

An eyewitness told our reporter that she saw the corpse of the boy that was shot rolling in a pool of his blood shouting for help that never came.

Not too long ago, eight people were shot at different locations in Enugu by people suspected to be rival cultists.  This forced the police to embark on sensitisation campaigns at strategic places and schools to warn people against getting involved in cultism.

The Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, Enugu State Command, Mr. Ebere Amaraizu confirmed the incident and said they are working on the report.

“We ave received the report and are working on it as we are close towards unmasking them.  We are trying to find out the motives, however we regret the unfortunate incident and advise youth to shun cultism and other vices,” Amaraizu admonishes.
