APGA former national Chairman, Chief (Sir) Victor Umeh has called on the people of Anambra Central Senatorial Zone to be very watchful, and to guide their votes jealously in the forthcoming election of the zone.

Umeh was addressing party supporters at the Akanu Ibiam International Airport where they had trooped to welcome he and the national chairman of the party after the judgment of the Supreme court, which dismissed the claim by the Maxi Okwu faction of the party that it was the authentic leadership.

He thanked his supporters for their steadfastness and reminded them of the need to continue to support the Willie Obiano administration to achieve its vision for the state.

He also called on them to sustain the tempo of mobilisation and to be watchful during the forthcoming Anambra Central Senatorial district election re-run to ensure that their votes count.

In his own address, the party’s national Chairman, Dr. Victor Ike Oye said that with the Supreme Court judgment, APGA is now poised to strengthen its structures and spread to other states in the federation. He said that APGA remains the most credible platform for Ndigbo to actualise their hopes and aspirations in Nigeria.

In a show of strength and solidarity, The party members had started arriving at the airport as early as 7 o’clock in the morning cut across all strata; men, women and youth. They flew the APGA flag amidst songs of solidarity.

It will be recalled that the Supreme Court in its judgment a week ago declared the Victor Ike Oye faction as the legitimate national leadership of the party.
