Drama In Tribunal: Abia Govt Announces Court Decision In Govt House Before Official Court Announcement

Information reaching 247ureports.com from sources in Umuahia government house in Abia indicate that the tribunal decision by the panel of Judges overseeing the gubernatorial petitions filled by the All Progressive Grand Alliance [APGA] candidate, Dr. Alex Otti may have erred in their process to reached a Judgement.

As gathered, the panel of Judges were schedule to deliver their Judgement today [December 31, 2015] by 9am. But as the Judge arrived the venue in Owerri in readiness for the Judgement, a call was placed was received by one of the Judges – and the scheduled announcement was postponed till 11am. When 11am came about, it was postponed to 2pm.

Interestingly, as the Judges were settling in for the scheduled 2pm announcement [at about 3:30pm], the governor’s aides at the government house in Umuahia received a call. The call was received as the aides were reading budgetary matters.

At the conclusion of the phone call, the aide announced that the Judges have agreed to ‘award’ victory to Governor Okezie Ikpeazu. The budget hearing event ended immediately – and jubilation followed.

Meanwhile, the Governor’s office in Abia is said to have got wind of what happened at the government and have initiated damage control measures to manage the aide’s error in decision.

Interestingly, in talking to some of the close aides to Governor Ikpeazu – it is made apparent that they were not comfortable with the Tribunal Case – and thus were expecting for the decision to the APGA way. One aide told 247ureports.com that they were already preparing to head to the Supreme Courts.

This is while aide to the APGA gubernatorial candidate indicate that the duo of Olisa Metu, the Peoples Democratic Party [PDP] Public Relations Officer and. Governor Fayose, the Ekiti Governor arrived Owerri, Imo State to ‘work’ the judgement. The source believes the PDP chieftains may have reached out to the Judges.
