There is a palpable fear in Bayelsa following the yesterday’s kidnap of 72 yrs old Mother of Under-23 coach, Samson Siasia.
Madam Beauty Ogere Siasia, the 72 years Mother of Nigeria’s Ex-International and current Coach of the Under 23 of National Dream Team IV, Samson Siasia was yesterday abducted by unknown gunmen at Odoni community of Sagbama Local Council Area of Bayelsa State.
It will be recalled that last Sunday, a popular musician from the state was kidnapped while performing on stage.
The gunmen also stormed the Gbarain Community in Yenagoa Local Government area of the State in a failed attempt to abduct the Paramount Ruler of the Gbarain Kingdom, HRH Gabriel Akah.
Three youths from the Community sustained gunshot wounds during the resistance effort that thwarted the abduction of the Traditional ruler.
It was gathered yesterday that the aged Mother of Samson Siasia was abducted from the Siasia family house in the Odoni community in the wee hours of Monday and forcefully snatched the woman through a back door and whisked her away on a get way motorcycle.
According to the Police,Madam Beauty Ogere Siasia was abducted at about 2am on Monday 16th of November, 2015 by three Unknown gunmen,”They went to the residence of one Mrs. Beauty Siasia 72yrs, at Odoni Community in Sagbama LGA, and abducted her to an unknown destination.
“The command has intensified efforts to rescue the kidnapped victim and arrest the suspects”
In another development, the attempts by the unknown gunmen to kidnap the Paramount Ruler of Gbarain Kingdom in Yenagoa Local Government Area of the State was thwarted by the combined team of Community Youths and Policemen in the Area.
According to the spokesman of the Police,” On the 15 November, 2015, at about 2300hrs, some unknown gunmen stormed the residence of HRH Gabriel Akah, the paramount ruler of Gbarain Kingdom, at Gbarain Community, in an attempt to kidnap him”.
“Policemen and community youths successfully repelled the attack. However, one Antu Onoyo ‘m’ 37yrs, Obafemi Kayode 27 yrs and Kayode Adeniji 29 yrs, all of Gbarain Community sustained bullet wound injuries and are responding to treatment at the Federal Medical Centre, Yenagoa”.
